How to freeze fresh strawberries

May is the perfect month to celebrate strawberries. This is the time you find the sweeter and juicier strawberries ever. Of course you can buy strawberries in December too, but the flavor, it’s just not the same. And there are so many ways to use them. For Smoothies, Milkshakes, Muffins, Ice Creams, Oatmeal etc. Not to mention the daiquiri cocktails we adults can enjoy while relaxing on our verandas in a hot summer night. So, this is the time to load your freezer with fresh strawberries.

How to freeze fresh strawberries

This is how I do it:

  • Rinse your strawberries well and lay them out on paper towel. Let them air dry.

  • Cut off the stems using a knife.

  • Line a baking sheet on a tray, place the strawberries and freeze for a few hours, or overnight.

  • Transfer them into zip lock bags and you are ready.
